Method #1: Dishwashing liquid, simple and effective
This is the gentlest solution… and often sufficient. Fill a basin or the sink with very hot water, add a little dish soap (preferably eco-friendly), then immerse the grates for about an hour.
Once soaking is complete, the grease will come off much more easily. Gently rub with a non-abrasive sponge, rinse with clean water, and dry thoroughly with a clean cloth. This method is ideal for regular, effortless maintenance.
Method #2: White vinegar and baking soda for stubborn grease
When the residue is stubborn, we step up our efforts, always using natural products. The combination of white vinegar and baking soda is particularly effective against ingrained grease.
Prepare a mixture of slightly warmed white vinegar and baking soda in a spray bottle or container. Apply it to the grates and let it sit for about 30 minutes. A slight foam will appear: this is normal. Then gently scrub with a sponge, rinse thoroughly, and dry carefully.
Tip: For a deeper clean, you can soak the grates directly in a basin containing this mixture.
Method #3: Lemon, fresh and degreasing

Lemon is a valuable ally for kitchen cleaning, and grills are no exception. Thanks to its natural acidity, it helps dissolve grease while leaving a pleasant scent.
Two options: mix the juice of half a lemon with a little warm water and a drop of mild dish soap, or rub half a lemon directly onto the grates, as you would with a sponge. Let it sit for a few minutes, rinse, then dry thoroughly.
This is the perfect method for a quick and natural cleaning, especially if the grates are only slightly dirty.
Method #4: Coffee grounds, the unexpected trick
It’s not something we always think about, but coffee grounds are slightly abrasive, just enough to loosen grease without scratching. Sprinkle them directly onto the dampened grates, then gently rub with a sponge.
For added effectiveness, you can mix it with a drop of dish soap. Rinse thoroughly to remove all residue, then dry. An excellent way to recycle coffee grounds while effectively cleaning your stovetop grates .
