Frosty mornings are increasingly making us late for work because we now have to scrape off frost and a thin layer of ice from our car windshield. This, of course, is not only inconvenient in the biting cold outside, but also quite a time-consuming task.
However, experts from Iceland (and you can trust them, because they know what cold and ice are like) claim that you can make the task of defrosting your car window easier by parking your car in a certain direction in the evening.
Driving experts at Lotus Car Rental in Iceland say you can avoid cleaning frost from your windshield by parking your car with the hood facing east.

This is because the sun rises from the east, which means its rays can melt the ice on your windshield before you even get around to cleaning it. Of course, this will depend on the time you have to leave.
If your work starts at 8:00, then no matter how you park your car, at 7-7:30 the sun will most likely not be up yet.
But for those crafty Icelanders, they also recommend another clever way to prevent ice from forming on car windshields, using a product you may already have in your fridge.
