Method of preparation:
I start by beating the egg yolks with the sugar, slightly warmed butter, milk, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt. It makes a smooth, aromatic mixture.
Then I add the sifted flour mixed with baking powder, and beat again until the dough is completely smooth.
I pour the finished mixture into a mold and level it. Next comes the most enjoyable part – I arrange the tangerine slices on top so that they form a beautiful pattern. I drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
I bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 30–35 minutes. I check with a wooden skewer – if it comes out dry, then the dessert is ready. I let it cool slightly and finally sprinkle it generously with powdered sugar.
Every time I make this cake, the house fills with a festive aroma and I’m reminded that the simplest recipes often bring the greatest pleasure.
Bon appetit!
